TIE is to combine the retailing knowledge with the product knowledge of suppliers. EDI system can help the Tesco’s suppliers better forecast demand. However, the information flow is strictly one way, and the company still does not know the true value of the sales data because they never get any feedback. And TIE will help the company achieves much more sophisticated two-way collaboration in its supply chain.

Tie has much potential to streamline Tesco’s supply chain and to help suppliers improve their service levels and promotions. But retailing is a traditional industry and many suppliers are set in their ways.


As a supplier, they will work with many retailers, not only work for Tesco. Maybe only this two suppliers working for Tesco individually, and it will be easy to change the suppl chain. If they worked for so many retailers, it will be a big problem for them because it always change the supply chain. it will be cost to much.
